As a child of a bi-cultural/bi-racial marriage, I assure you that the most important comment in the interview is this: "I feel like my husband and I get along because we are very compatible as living partners and we just click. If I'm the pot, he's the lid. Our 'cross-cultural-ness' doesn't seem to play too much of a part in the whole thing." I won't downplay the complication that comes from differences in cultures and the challenge of someone living in another country, but the essence of all marriages comes down to this. If you don't click, no level of compatibility in national culture will matter. By the way, are you all aware of an organization called the Association of Foreign Wives of Japanese (www.afwj.org)?
